Michael Carrick promises "positive" replay performance from Manchester United

Michael Carrick expects Manchester United to have a "positive" attitude when they face Chelsea in their FA Cup replay.

Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick has insisted that his team will be "positive" when they travel to Chelsea for an FA Cup quarter-final replay.

When the two sides met at Old Trafford yesterday afternoon, hosting United looked to have booked their place in the final four when they opened up a 2-0 lead within the opening 11 minutes.

However, the Blues scored twice after the restart to ensure that they will have another chance back at Stamford Bridge.

Despite the disappointment of having surrendered a two-goal advantage, Carrick was adamant that United are capable of winning at the second attempt.

"Of course we'll go there positive because it's in our nature," Carrick told MUTV. "We go there believing we can win. It's a tough place to go because they're a good team, but it's a one-off and the FA Cup can throw up some classic games. Hopefully we'll be on the right end of it next time."

United last won the FA Cup back in 2004 when they defeated Millwall 3-0.
