Wayne Rooney available for West Bromwich Albion match

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal reveals that striker Wayne Rooney has recovered from a knee injury in time to face West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been declared fit for his side's match with West Bromwich Albion on Saturday evening.

Earlier this week, reports suggested that the United skipper could miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee problem against Everton, but boss Louis van Gaal has revealed that the club's top goalscorer will feature against the Baggies at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman told MUTV: "Rooney is fit to play. It was not as heavy as we expected. Wayne is very important to us so I am very happy."

However, both Luke Shaw and Jonny Evans have been ruled out of the game through injury.
