Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester United could line up for Sunday's Premier League derby with Manchester City.

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick will expect to have Scott McTominay back in the fold for Sunday's Premier League Manchester derby with Manchester City at the Etihad.

The Scotland international has spent a couple of weeks on the sidelines after coming down with an illness but has had plenty of time to recover since missing out against Watford last week.

Edinson Cavani has endured an injury-hit season this time around, but Rangnick has also confirmed that the Uruguayan could return from his groin problem for the derby, although there are "question marks" over a couple of unnamed players.

Rangnick made a big call in dropping Harry Maguire for the 0-0 draw with Watford, and the German may keep the faith in Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane after a clean sheet at Old Trafford.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Alex Telles will also hope to form part of an unchanged backline for the Red Devils, while McTominay could displace Nemanja Matic in the engine room.

McTominay's return would also allow Paul Pogba to revert to a central position in place of Fred, with Jadon Sancho therefore rejoining Anthony Elanga and Bruno Fernandes in the final third.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his 37-year-old legs will need a break at some point, but the five-time Ballon d'Or winner is not expected to be dropped for a meeting of this magnitude.

Man United possible starting lineup: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Varane, Telles; Pogba, McTominay; Elanga, Fernandes, Sancho; Ronaldo
