Former Manchester United midfielder David Beckham has praised the youthful exuberance of striker Marcus Rashford.

The 18-year-old scored the only goal of the game to give his side victory in the Manchester derby on Sunday, taking his career tally to five goals in eight senior appearances.

Beckham offered his congratulations to Rashford in an Instagram post, saying that it is "refreshing" to see a youngster playing with such excitement.

When a young kid that loves the club he is at and loves the game he is playing this is what you get... The excitement in Marcus's face after scoring against our rivals is exactly what a kid his age should look like... It's refreshing and pleasing to see... Congrats to Marcus on another great day @manchesterunited
