Kenny Dalglish believes that Sir Alex Ferguson's presence at Manchester United will not be detrimental to David Moyes's managerial reign at the club.
The Everton manager will take over as United boss next season after Ferguson announced his decision to retire earlier this week.
The former Liverpool manager feels that Ferguson's continued influence around the club will not hamper Moyes from making his mark on the Red Devils.
"I don't go along with the idea that Sir Alex still having a role at the club will cause a problem," Dalglish wrote in his Daily Mirror column.
"Sir Alex won't interfere. He will stay quiet and he'll stay up the road unless Moyes seeks him out. I think Sir Alex will be a fantastic ally for Moyes.
"Don't forget, Moyes has done a fine job at Everton, but he has very little experience at Champions League level. Moyes was his recommendation and Sir Alex does not like to get anything wrong."
Moyes signed a six-year deal with the Premier League champions on Thursday.
