Manchester United defender Jonny Evans insists that the squad can handle their tough start to the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has insisted that the squad can handle their tough start to the new Premier League season.

The Red Devils get their title defence underway at Swansea City next month before fixtures against Chelsea, Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Manchester City.

"Whenever we have had a batch of tough fixtures in the past we have done really well and come out of them in strong positions," Sky Sports News quotes Evans as saying.

"At Manchester United, you have to win every game, no matter what the opponent. That is the way it is here. Even if things don't go as planned it is still early in the season.

"We have been there before. We lost our first game against Everton last year and still won the league by 11 points."

United continue their pre-season tour of Asia on Friday against Cerezo Osaka in Hong Kong.
