Patrice Evra "annoyed" by Manchester United exit

Juventus full-back Patrice Evra admits that he still harbours ill-feeling over the manner of his departure from Manchester United.

Patrice Evra has admitted that he still finds it difficult to talk about his departure from Manchester United.

The 34-year-old left-back ended his eight-year stay at Old Trafford to move to Juventus last summer, despite having signed a one-year contract extension just two months prior to his departure.

Rumours of a falling-out with manager Louis van Gaal accompanied Evra's exit, and the France international has now suggested that a dispute over a clause in his contract was to blame.

"It's still hard to talk about my exit," Evra told RMC.

"But one day, when my career is over, I'll be able to speak more openly about it.

"I came to Turin above all for my family because at Manchester United they had inserted a clause in our agreement which changed the situation considerably. It really annoyed me."

Evra helped Juventus to a league and cup double, in addition to the Champions League final, during his first season in Turin.
