Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand refuses to look beyond the next 12 months.

Rio Ferdinand has admitted that he is not looking too far into the future.

The 33-year-old entered into his eleventh year as a Manchester United player yesterday, having joined the Red Devils from Leeds United.

Despite expressing his affection for the club, Ferdinand confessed that he has not considered his future beyond the next 12 months.

"When you get to my age, if you start thinking too far ahead, your legs can get taken from underneath you," the centre-back told reporters.

"I want to play for United, I've enjoyed pre-season and I don't want to look beyond this season.

"I love it at United and I don't want to go anywhere else."

Ferdinand is currently part of the United squad that is touring China.
