Sir Alex Ferguson: 'I look at Jose Mourinho and see myself'

Sir Alex Ferguson admits that he sees himself in Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he sees much of himself in Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.

The Scot, who discusses his relationship with the Madrid manager in an interview in a new Spanish book, defends the former Chelsea man's controversial sideline behaviour during his time at Stamford Bridge.

"I look at Jose and I see myself reflected in many of the things he does," he said.

"In the first year at Chelsea when I saw him running along the touchline at Old Trafford, he reminded me of my first years at Aberdeen, jumping, raising my arms, celebrating.

"We're only human. We can't hide our emotions. They're always there, they're part of who we are, of our character."

Mourinho has more than once been tipped to replace the United boss at Old Trafford after he retires.
