Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has been named as UEFA coaching ambassador.
The Scotsman has been out of the game since retiring after a 27-year tenure at Old Trafford at the end of last season.
It has now been announced by UEFA at the executive committee meeting in Nyon that Ferguson has been recruited by the European governing body.
UEFA president Michel Platini said that Ferguson will be one of elite coaches that will meet every year and "will also be a member of the technical study group of the Champions League and the European Championship".
Ferguson is also a director at United.
