Terry Gibson: 'David Moyes could leave Real Sociedad'

David Moyes could leave his managerial position with Real Sociedad this summer, according to former Manchester United forward Terry Gibson.

Former Manchester United forward Terry Gibson believes that David Moyes and Real Sociedad could part ways at the end of the season.

Moyes took charge of the Spanish club last November after Jagoba Arrasate had been sacked for overseeing a disappointing start to the campaign.

It has been a mixed tenure for the Scot, whose side currently sit 12th in La Liga, and Gibson has claimed that the former Manchester United boss has "underachieved" at the Basque club.

"I think they have a solid squad. Three-quarters of the squad are more than capable of getting Sociedad back into contention for a European spot. They just need three or four more players, some creativity in midfield and a bit of pace up front," Gibson, who is now a Spanish-based pundit, told Sky Sports News.

"But I still think they have underachieved since David Moyes has taken over. They certainly have not been inspiring. And I think that if we are judging it, we would probably say he has achieved the minimum requirement by keeping them just out of the relegation fight. No more, no less.

"It is going to be interesting. There might be one or two jobs up and they might have a new manager at Real Sociedad next season. It is still to be seen what happens and whether various Premier League clubs change their coaches. He will look upon it as a good experience I am sure. But at the moment I am sure his mind will be fixed on looking at various players and by now he will have assessed what he needs, and then if he stays we can really truly judge him this time next season."

Moyes has been strongly linked with a return to the Premier League.
