Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs reportedly agrees terms to take over as the new Wales manager and is set to be unveiled on Monday.

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has reportedly agreed terms with the Welsh Football Association to take over the vacant manager's post for the national team.

The 44-year-old spent an interim spell in charge of Manchester United following the departure of David Moyes in 2014 and went on to work as assistant to Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, but this will be his first permanent position in management.

Giggs has been linked with a plethora of jobs in recent years but is now expected to be unveiled as Wales's new manager on Monday after beating the likes of Craig Bellamy, Mark Bowen and Osian Roberts to the post.

The former winger will succeed Chris Coleman, who took Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 but narrowly missed out on a place at the 2018 World Cup before resigning and taking over at Championship club Sunderland.

Giggs, who made 64 appearances for Wales between 1991 and 2007, never reached a major tournament during his playing career but will now bid to take his country to Euro 2020 when the qualifying process gets underway later this year.
