Adnan Januzaj given number 11 shirt for Manchester United

Adnan Januzaj is handed the iconic number 11 shirt for Manchester United ahead of the new season.

Adnan Januzaj has been handed the number 11 shirt for Manchester United this season, following in the footsteps of club legend Ryan Giggs.

The club announced its new squad numbers on Wednesday ahead of their Premier League opener against Swansea City this weekend.

Giggs, who retired from playing earlier this summer to become part of Louis van Gaal's coaching staff, had occupied the iconic jersey for the majority of his 24-year career at Old Trafford.

Summer signing Luke Shaw will wear number three, while fellow new arrival Ander Herrera will have number 21 on his back.
