Phil Jones: "It wasn't our day"

Manchester United defender Phil Jones admits that it was not the team's day in front of goal as they squandered several chances in their draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Phil Jones has admitted that it was not Manchester United's day in front of goal in their goalless draw with Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.

The visitors had a string of shots in the first half, but could not get the better of Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal as they had to settle for a point at White Hart Lane.

Jones told reporters: "We created numerous chances in the first half but it wasn't our day in front of goal. Fatigue is always going to kick in but it's the same for every team."

The result leaves United third in the table, nine points behind leaders Chelsea, having played a game more.
