Federico Macheda wants longer Doncaster Rovers stay

Federico Macheda says that he wants to extend his Doncaster Rovers loan to at least January.

Federico Macheda has said that he would like his loan at Doncaster Rovers to be for longer than a month.

The Manchester United striker's temporary move to Yorkshire was confirmed on Monday and he made his debut from the bench in last night's defeat at Watford.

Speaking afterwards, the 22-year-old told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It would be a shame to be here just a month. If I can stay until January, that would be great.

"I'm really looking forward to more playing time. I think it was the best move for me."

Last night's defeat leaves Paul Dickov's Rovers in 18th place in the Championship.
