Manchester United captain Harry Maguire is reportedly feeling undermined by the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.

Captain Harry Maguire reportedly feels undermined by Cristiano Ronaldo's influence in the Manchester United dressing room.

While Maguire is the club skipper, Ronaldo's experience and status in the sport automatically makes him a natural leadership figure.

At a time when Maguire has struggled for form in the centre of United's defence, The Mirror claims that the England international is reluctant to pass on the captain's armband.

Nevertheless, it is suggested that Ronaldo has "positioned himself" to be the player to get an under-performing squad pulling in the same direction.

Maguire allegedly feels that he is beginning to warrant less respect within the dressing room, leading to others believing that he could soon be replaced by the Portuguese.

Speculation also persists that Ronaldo may depart United at the end of the season, something which could impact any decision to pass on the armband at this stage.
