Juan Mata reveals he has been "joking" with Man City rivals ahead of derby

Juan Mata says that the "joking" between Manchester United and Manchester City players has already begun ahead of this weekend's derby at Old Trafford.

Juan Mata has revealed that he and Manchester United teammate David de Gea have been throwing jibes at Manchester City rivals David Silva and Nolito ahead of this weekend's derby at Old Trafford.

The two Manchester clubs' first clash this season it will mark the first meeting between managers Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola since they took over at United and City respectively.

The North-West outfits have had 100% starts to the season having won all three of their Premier League games, and even though Mata is aware of the importance of the match, he has urged everyone not to get "too crazy".

In his weekly blog, the midfielder wrote: "All of us are fully aware that this is a very special game, yet we have to understand that these are three points and don't get too crazy. Both teams have started the Premiership well and the expectations are high, as everybody can imagine.

"David de Gea and me have been joking with Nolito and Silva in the last few days, although the truth is we are now focused on the games with the national team. After that, we will have plenty of time to think about this exciting derby."

This fixture last season ended in a goalless draw at Old Trafford.
