David Moyes has refused to confirm if either Robin van Persie or Michael Carrick will be available for Manchester United's festive matches.
The duo have spent time on the sidelines with thigh and Achilles injuries respectively, which were thought to have ruled them out of action until January, although recent reports have suggested that they could make early returns.
However, when asked by reporters if the pair could face Hull City on Boxing Day or Norwich City two days later, Moyes smiled and said: "There are always miracles at Christmas time so let's hope there could well be one for Robin Van Persie or Michael Carrick."
Moyes's men go into those two clashes having won their last four matches in all competitions.
