Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque has left Chelsea striker Diego Costa, Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata and Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres out of his provisional squad for Euro 2016.
Costa has been omitted from the 25-man setup due to fitness concerns, while Torres, who scored six goals in seven starts in the closing stages of Atleti's season, has been overlooked, along with Mata.
Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla, who spent five months on the sidelines with injury this season, has also been snubbed, and there is no place in the squad for Valencia striker Paco Alcacer.
There is good news, though, for Atletico's Saul and Real Madrid winger Lucas Vazquez as both have been called into the provisional squad, which also includes Premier League players David de Gea, Cesar Azpilicueta, David Silva, Cesc Fabregas and Pedro.
Two players will be cut from the squad before the Euros get underway next month.
