Last night's 0-0 draw between Arsenal and Chelsea has meant that at the end of week 17 the Premier League has new leaders in the form of Liverpool, who have leapfrogged the Gunners.
The Reds saw off Cardiff City 3-1 at Anfield, while Tottenham Hotspur started life without Andre Villas-Boas by winning 3-2 away at Southampton.
There were also wins for both Manchester clubs as City overcame Fulham 4-2, while United recorded a 3-1 victory over West Ham United at Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, towards the bottom, both Sunderland and Crystal Palace slumped to defeats.

Vito Mannone (Sunderland)
The struggling Black Cats have been much more of a solid unit ever since Gus Poyet took charge and they continued that form against Norwich City, with goalkeeper Mannone pulling off a couple of smart saves.
Danny Rose (Tottenham Hotspur)
Injuries have hampered the left-back's campaign, but he was passed fit to start away at Southampton. He produced an attack-minded display which saw his low cross result in Saints defender Jos Hooiveld putting through his own net.
Per Mertesacker (Arsenal)
Without the reliable Laurent Koscielny alongside him, it was Mertesacker's job to guide a rusty Thomas Vermaelen through the match with Chelsea. The big German carried out that responsibility, as well as nullifying Fernando Torres, with ease.
Fabricio Coloccini (Newcastle United)
You don't often associate Newcastle and clean sheets, but the Argentine was a solid feature at the back as the Magpies stood firm against Crystal Palace.
Seamus Coleman (Everton)
The Republic of Ireland international has scored four goals this season, the best of which came away at Swansea City on Sunday afternoon. A shot from 25 yards out did not look on, but the Everton defender somehow squeezed his effort inside the near post.
Adam Lallana (Southampton)
The Southampton midfielder did not deserve to be on the losing side against Spurs. He opened the scoring with a low finish, before setting up Rickie Lambert with a smart assist to level up the score at 2-2.
Phil Jones (Manchester United)
The England international must go into Manchester United matches not having a clue which position he will be playing in. Against West Ham it was the centre of midfield and he provided the protection for the likes of Wayne Rooney and Adnan Januzaj to be creative in the final third.
Ross Barkley (Everton)
Barkley has put in a string of performances this term of the quality that far exceed someone that is just 20, but he went even better against Swansea by curling in the winning goal in the closing stages.
Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)
It appears that Brendan Rodgers has restored some belief to the young Liverpool winger, who caused a number of problems to the Cardiff rearguard at Anfield. A goal was just reward for his display.
Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham Hotspur)
Tim Sherwood reinstated the controversial Togo frontman and had his faith was rewarded when Adebayor scored two goals of high quality, one of which was the winning strike.
Luis Suarez (Liverpool)
Right now, it would be a surprise if Suarez didn't score. When he left the pitch on Saturday having played Cardiff, he had fired in his fifth brace of the season and laid on another goal for Sterling.
Numpty of the week
Vincent Kompany: The Manchester City skipper showed great predatory instincts to put his side 2-0 up, but he was also responsible for Fulham drawing the game level at two goals apiece. Sascha Riether's cross from the right flank was harmless, but in the act of clearing, Kompany completely missed his kick and only succeeded in lifting the ball over Joe Hart and into his own net via the upright.
Goal of the week
Ross Barkley (Swansea City vs. Everton): It was a late whipped free-kick worthy of winning any match. The angle appeared to favour a left-footed player, but the Everton youngster got enough curl on the ball to beat the wall. After that, it cannoned off the underside of the crossbar, before bouncing over the line.
