Report: Genk to take Manchester United to court over Indy Boonen signing

A report claims that Genk are seeking a bigger compensation payment from Manchester United over the 2015 transfer of Indy Boonen, who has since left Old Trafford.

Manchester United are being taken to court by Belgian club Genk over the signing of teenage winger Indy Boonen, according to a report.

Boonen was bought by United at the age of 15 in 2015 and departed the club three years later without making a first-team outing.

The Sun reports that Genk are still unhappy about the circumstances surrounding the young attacker's departure, and they will take the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport next month.

The dispute is thought to centre on the sum of training compensation the Red Devils owe Genk.

United beat domestic rivals Manchester City and Arsenal to Boonen's signature, but he left this summer for a return to Belgium with KV Oostende on a free transfer.
