Former Manchester United striker Robin van Persie eyes Turkish title

Following his switch from Manchester United, Robin van Persie tells Fenerbahce fans that he will do everything he can to help the club win the league title.

Robin van Persie has turned his attention to winning the Super Lig title in his first season as a Fenerbahce player.

Following discussions over the weekend, the 31-year-old completed his move from Manchester United to the Istanbul-based club earlier today.

At his unveiling press conference in front of supporters at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, the Dutchman vowed to do all that he can to help the club be successful.

"It is very important that you adapt to the country you are living in. I am now part of the Fenerbahce family. I will adapt to the country and you," he said.

"I am humbled to see so many great fans come today to greet me and welcome me. I promise you one thing - I will do everything in my power to help Fenerbahce win many trophies to make you guys happy.

"I can only imagine how it would be if we win the league, what kind of party that would be. I hope I can share that with you guys."

Fener last won the title back in 2014, having finished as runners-up to rivals Galatasaray last term.
