Report: Manchester United target Nicolas Otamendi preparing strike action

A report in Spain claims that Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi is preparing to go on strike to push through a switch to Manchester United.

Nicolas Otamendi has reportedly informed Valencia that he will not return to training later this month in a bid to force through a move to Manchester United.

The Argentine has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford for much of the summer, with personal terms said to have already been agreed.

Los Che have instructed the centre-back to arrive at the their training base on July 27, but the 27-year-old has decided not to fulfil that request, according to Marca.

Instead, the report adds that Otamendi has told his family to prepare for a move to England in the belief that a deal is close to completion.

It is believed that the defender will cost the Red Devils around £30m.
