Wayne Rooney predicts a difficult run of fixtures in the upcoming weeks as Manchester United look to retain their Premier League title.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has predicted a difficult run of fixtures for his side in the coming weeks as they look to retain their Premier League title.

The Red Devils, who are currently three points behind league leaders Manchester City, face Stoke City, Chelsea and Liverpool in their next three league games.

"They are all difficult games but as a footballer, these are the games you want to play in," Rooney told the club's official website.

"We understand and know what we have to do. We need to do well in those games.

"As far as the players are concerned we have to take each game as it comes, prepare ourselves the best way we can and hopefully we can get the results we need."

United travel to Liverpool on Saturday in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
