Paul Scholes: 'Manchester United capable of reaching Champions League final'

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes that if the Red Devils beat Bayern Munich, they can go all the way to the Champions League final.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes that the Red Devils can reach the Champions League final should they overcome Bayern Munich in the quarters.

David Moyes's men will take on the holders over two legs following their triumph over Olympiacos last week.

Robin van Persie netted all three goals to send United through to the final eight, but the Dutchman is expected to miss the quarter-finals due to a sprained knee.

"We'll be up against a top quality team, but we also have to believe," Scholes told Goal.com. "It will be very difficult. It's one of the teams you wouldn't want to get but if we can beat them, who knows, we can go all the way to the final."

United's route back to the Champions League next season is to win the tournament, should the club fail to secure qualification via the Premier League.
