Chris Smalling is calling on his Manchester United teammates to claim top spot tomorrow afternoon.

Chris Smalling has urged his Manchester United teammates to claim top spot in the Premier League tomorrow afternoon.

Victory for the Red Devils against Queens Park Rangers will see them move to the summit, although Manchester City would reclaim the position with three points against Arsenal later on the same day.

The young defender believes that United could put some doubt into the Manchester City team with a win at Loftus Road.

"It would be a good psychological boost to get back to top spot," said the 22-year-old.

"City have maybe got a little comfy in terms of being on top. We can put a lot of pressure on them because they play a couple of hours later.

"If we can get that top spot back we will be hard to knock off because we're only going to get stronger as the season goes on."

Smalling joined United in 2010 from Fulham.
