Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson could make a £15m bid for Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels, according to The Daily Mail.
Ferguson is reportedly chasing a defender to replace crocked skipper Nemanja Vidic, and has identified Hummels as the man to fill the role.
The 23-year-old has 12 Germany caps and has been an ever-present in the Dortmund side this season.
Ferguson could also move for Dortmund teammate Mario Gotze after sending scouts to watch the midfielder four times this season.
United will move top of the Premier League table with victory over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday afternoon.
