Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal can close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester United and win the title this season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that his side can win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners are currently seventh in the league table with 24 points from 16 matches, 15 points behind leaders Manchester United, who defeated Manchester City 3-2 in the derby on Sunday.

"The Manchester derby was of a very good level and the draw would maybe have been the fair result," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

"Manchester City came back - they started the game very strongly - but Man United have shown they are clinical up front.

"The rest of the weekend was quite interesting. It shows that if you're consistent, you will be there at the end of the season. From now on it is important for us to be consistent The gap [to the top] is big, but not big enough to think it's done."

Arsenal will take on Bradford City in the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Tuesday.
