Gary Neville questions what Samir Nasri gives to Manchester City during the bigger matches.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has stated his belief that Samir Nasri has not contributed enough to Manchester City during their bigger matches in recent months.

The French attacker has been heavily criticised for his performance during yesterday's Manchester derby, where Robin van Persie's late winner for United deflected off of Nasri's outstretched leg.

Reflecting on what he saw from Nasri at the Etihad Stadium, Neville questioned what he actually provides to the City team.

"He goes missing in the big games and for me he doesn't put a shift in," he told Sky Sports' Monday Night Football. "I played against him three or four years ago at the Emirates Stadium and he pulled my pants down and I ended up getting subbed! He absolutely battered me.

"This is a player when the 'oles' are coming out you'll see. When the going gets tough I'm not sure he fancies it so much. I'm not sure Nasri does enough."

Nasri joined City from Arsenal in the summer of 2011.
