Preview: Manchester City vs. Manchester United

Sports Mole previews the first Manchester derby of the season as the Premier League's top two clubs go head to head.

The Premier League's top two clubs go head to head on Sunday as Manchester City and Manchester United face each other in an eagerly-anticipated derby match.

The match will be the first time that the two clubs have met since Sergio Aguero snatched the title from United's grasp in stoppage time of the final game of last season.

This season is shaping up to be another two-horse race between the Manchester clubs, with just three points separating them after 15 matches.

A win for City would see them leapfrog United at the top of the table, but they will be without David Silva, Aleksandar Kolarov, James Milner and Micah Richards, all of whom are struggling with injuries.

United also have injuries troubles, with Shinji Kagawa, Anderson and Nani all likely to miss out, while Tom Cleverley and Nemanja Vidic could be involved but are not expected to start.

City will be looking to improve upon their recent form, which has seen them win just once in their last five games in all competitions, although they are still unbeaten in the league this season.

United, on the other hand, have picked up 24 points from a possible 27 in their last nine league games.

City's recent record against their rivals is good, however, beating them 1-0 in the corresponding fixture last season and thrashing them 6-1 at Old Trafford.
