Wayne Rooney could return to Manchester United's starting lineup for their Premier League match against Norwich City on Sunday.

Norwich City welcome Premier League champions Manchester United to Carrow Road on Sunday in a bid to climb up the league table.

The Canaries are likely to welcome back Tottenham Hotspur loanee Kyle Naughton, with Russell Martin and Adam Drury expected to hold the back line.

Despite Steve Morison starting up front for Paul Lambert in the side's 2-1 defeat to Leicester City in the FA Cup last week, the striker could be replaced by Simeon Jackson.

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to tinker with his Manchester United squad following their 2-1 defeat to Ajax in the Europa League in midweek.

Wayne Rooney is expected to return to the starting lineup after overcoming a throat infection, while Phil Jones and Tom Cleverley could be benched in order to ease them back into domestic fixtures following their respective injuries.

The Red Devils coach could enlist the services of United veterans Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs when they travel to Norwich this weekend.

Current form:

Norwich: DWLWLL
Manchester United: LWDWWL

Possible lineups:

Norwich: Ruddy; Martin, Drury, Ward, Naughton; Surman, Pilkington, Fox, Bennett; Holt, Jackon

Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra; Young, Scholes, Carrick, Giggs; Rooney, Welbeck

Sports Mole says: 0-2
