Team News: Cameron Borthwick-Jackson starts for Manchester United at Bournemouth

Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson makes his first start for the club against Bournemouth, as manager Louis van Gaal makes four changes from last week.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has made four changes from the side that drew 0-0 with West Ham United last weekend for this afternoon's clash with Bournemouth.

Chris Smalling makes way for 18-year-old defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson for his first United start, while Guillermo Varela replaces Matteo Darmian at right-back, with both defenders missing having suffered injuries in their side's 3-2 Champions League defeat by Wolfsburg on Tuesday evening.

Memphis Depay and Michael Carrick both return to the starting XI, as Morgan Schneiderlin starts on the bench, while Bastian Schweinsteiger serves the first match of a three-game suspension.

Hosts Bournemouth are unchanged from the side that defeated Chelsea 1-0 last weekend, as Joshua King continues up front, while Artur Boruc is preferred to Adam Federici in goal.

Bournemouth: Boruc; Smith, Cook, Francis, Daniels; Ritchie, Surman, Arter, Gosling, Stanislas; King
Subs: Federici, Pugh, Rantie, Kermorgant, Distin, Murray, O'Kane

Manchester United: De Gea; Varela, McNair, Borthwick-Jackson, Blind; Carrick, Fellaini; Lingard, Mata, Memphis; Martial
Subs: Romero, Jones, Tuanzebe, Young, Schneiderlin, Pereira, Powell
