How Huddersfield Town could line up against Manchester United

Sports Mole looks at how Huddersfield Town could line up against Manchester United in their penultimate game of the season on Sunday.

As the season approaches its climax, Huddersfield Town prepare to take on Manchester United in their final home game of the season this weekend.

The Terriers, already relegated to the Championship, have lost 14 games in a row and have not registered a point since their 0-0 draw with Cardiff City in January.

A Champions League spot for next season is still possible for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, but it remains unlikely with three points separating them from fourth-placed Chelsea and a substantially lower goal difference. Nevertheless, victory is a must for United on Sunday to stay in the hunt heading into the final day.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how the Terriers could line up for Sunday's contest.

Possible HUD XI vs. MNU

Out: None
Doubtful: Aaron Mooy (hip), Ben Hamer (knock), Laurent Depoitre (foot)

Huddersfield will stage a late fitness test for key midfielder Aaron Mooy after a hip injury has kept the Australian out of action for the last three games. It is unlikely that Ben Hamer and Laurent Depoitre will feature either due to recurrent knocks affecting both players.

Captain Christopher Schindler will feature at centre-half along side Terence Kongolo, with the German having appeared in all but one league game this season.

Philip Billing may replace Jon Gorenc Stankovic as the holding midfielder, while Elias Kachunga could be brought in to replace Jonathan Hogg to try to inspire more creativity in the attacking third.

Karlan Grant has shown potential for the Terriers this season, scoring a club-high four league goals in only 11 appearances since joining from Charlton Athletic in January.

Steve Mounie will likely lead the attack, providing an aerial threat for Huddersfield to play off.
