Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is hopeful that Luke Shaw will be passed fit for Sunday's Premier League trip to Luton Town.
The left-back did not emerge for the second half of last weekend's 2-1 win over Aston Villa, with Ten Hag confirming after the game that he withdrew the Englishman for precautionary reasons.
Speaking at Thursday's pre-match press conference, Ten Hag admitted that Shaw remains "doubtful" for the trek to Kenilworth Road, but he is "positive" that the ex-Southampton man will be given the green light to take part.
Victor Lindelof will be on standby if Shaw suffers a setback in the coming hours, but Ten Hag will surely avoid deploying the Swede as an emergency option if he can help it; Aston Villa found some success on that flank after Shaw was taken off in the West Midlands.
With Shaw likely to be available, though, an unchanged defensive contingent will take to the field, especially as Lisandro Martinez (knee), Aaron Wan-Bissaka (unspecified) and Tyrell Malacia (knee) are all absent.
Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot and Andre Onana are primed to join Shaw once more, but Scott McTominay's 86th-minute winner at Villa Park may not be enough for the Scotsman to force his way in over Casemiro or breakthrough star Kobbie Mainoo.
With Mason Mount still taking up a bed in the infirmary, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are primed to form an untouched supporting cast for the in-form Rasmus Hojlund.
The Dane became the second-youngest player in Premier League history - only behind Nicolas Anelka - to score in five successive matches in the competition last week and continues to operate at the tip of the attack in place of long-term groin victim Anthony Martial, who would only make the bench at best anyway.
Manchester United possible starting lineup:
Onana; Dalot, Varane, Maguire, Shaw; Mainoo, Casemiro; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund
