Nottingham Forest lineup vs. Man United: Predicted Reds XI for Premier League clash

Wood, Gibbs-White calls to be made: How Forest could line up against Man United

Sports Mole looks at how Nottingham Forest could line up in Tuesday's Premier League clash with Manchester United at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest's leading goalscorer Chris Wood is unlikely to be in the starting side when the Reds welcome Manchester United to the City Ground for an intriguing Premier League contest on Tuesday night.

Wood suffered a hip injury while representing New Zealand during the March international break, and he was not involved in Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final with Brighton & Hove Albion, which Forest won on penalties.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo said that the situation was "not good" ahead of the Man United match, so it would be a huge surprise to see him in the first XI, but a spot on the bench for the 18-goal striker has not been ruled out.

Morgan Gibbs-White will also need to be assessed after a heavy collision with the goalpost against Brighton, but there is hope that the Englishman will recover in time to take on the 20-time English champions.

Should Wood not make it, then ex-Red Devils forward Anthony Elanga could operate through the middle, allowing Jota Silva to come into a wide area, which should not cause too much disruption.

There will be changes from the side that started against Brighton in the FA Cup, including a recall for Callum Hudson-Odoi in a wide area, while Elanga will also be in the XI against his former club.

However, it will be the same back five from the game with the Seagulls, including towering centre-back Nikola Milenkovic, who has proven to be an incredible signing for the Reds this season.

Nottingham Forest possible starting lineup: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, N Williams; Dominguez, Anderson; Jota, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Elanga
