Barcelona transfer roundup: Xavi's side make Robert Lewandowski offer, Neymar linked with Camp Nou return

Sports Mole rounds up the latest Barcelona transfer news, including an offer for Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski and a possible Camp Nou return for Neymar.

Barcelona are working to boost their squad for the 2022-23 campaign, and the club are expected to be active in the coming weeks despite their financial problems.

Head coach Xavi is looking to help the club return to the top of Spanish and European football once again, but he has a huge task on his hands to close the gap on Real Madrid next term.

Here, Sports Mole provides a transfer roundup of the biggest stories involving Barcelona, who will open their new La Liga season against Rayo Vallecano on August 14.

Barcelona have reportedly made an official offer for Bayern Munich centre-forward Robert Lewandowski.

The Poland international has told the German champions that he wants to leave this summer, and Barcelona are firmly at the head of the queue for his signature despite interest from elsewhere.

Bayern continue to insist that the experienced striker is not for sale and will report back to pre-season training in the middle of July.

However, according to ESPN, Barcelona have now made their first offer for the 33-year-old, who only has 12 months left to run on his contract at Allianz Arena.

The report claims that the Bundesliga giants want in excess of €40m (£34.3m) and have privately accepted that they could be forced into selling him before the end of the window.

BARCELONA 'OFFERED CHANCE TO BRING NEYMAR BACK TO CAMP NOU'

Barcelona have reportedly been offered the chance to re-sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar this summer.

The Brazil international scored 13 goals and registered eight assists in 28 appearances for his French club during the 2021-22 campaign, winning the Ligue 1 title in the process.

However, PSG are believed to be open to selling the attacker during this summer's transfer window, and according to El Chiringuito, Barcelona have been contacted over a possible return for the 30-year-old.

The report claims that a fee in the region of €50m (£43m) would be enough to re-sign the South American, who represented the Catalan giants between 2013 and 2017, scoring 105 goals and registering 76 assists in 186 appearances.

The former Santos youngster has scored 100 goals and registered 60 assists in 144 appearances for his French club since arriving from Camp Nou.

Man United are reportedly preparing to submit an improved offer for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The Netherlands international has allegedly been identified as a key transfer target for the Red Devils, with the English giants currently in talks with Barcelona over a deal.

Man United had allegedly made a verbal bid for the midfielder, offering €60m (£52m) plus €10m (£8.7m) in add-ons, which was turned down by the Catalan giants, who are open to a sale due to their financial issues.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Erik ten Hag's team are now preparing to submit an improved offer for the Dutchman, as they bid to bring the transfer saga to a close.

An agreement could allegedly be reached in the region of €75m (£64.6m), and the sale could allow Xavi's side to complete a deal for Lewandowski.
