Agent: 'Gareth Bale going nowhere this summer'

The agent of Gareth Bale claims that the midfielder will not be leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season, despite strong links to Manchester United.

Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale has no intention of leaving the club this summer, according to his agent.

The Welshman has come under fire in recent months due to a string of underwhelming displays, which culminated in another lacklustre showing against Juventus in midweek.

Speculation linking the world's costliest player with a move back to the Premier League has intensified this week, with Manchester United rumoured to be preparing a record-breaking bid, although the midfielder's agent Jonathan Barnett has played down a move away from the Bernabeu.

"Real Madrid are the number one club in the world. There's always interest in him - but as far as we are concerned he'll be at Real Madrid next summer," he told Sky Sports News.

Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was recently forced to defend the performances of Bale, claiming that the former Tottenham Hotspur man was still battling to return to full fitness.
