Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti remained coy when asked about a potential move for Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger this summer.

The Germany international's contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of June, and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel recently revealed that the defender is set to leave on a free transfer.

A number of clubs, including Manchester United, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain, have been credited with an interest 29-year-old, but Real Madrid appear to have won the race for his signature.

Los Blancos have allegedly reached a 'preliminary agreement' to sign the German, who has contributed five goals and four assists in 47 appearances at club level this term.

However, when asked about a summer move for Rudiger, Ancelotti jokingly claimed that he was not aware of the defender or the recent speculation.

"Toni Rudiger? Toni who? Who's this?" Ancelotti told beIN Sports. "He's still a Chelsea player. I can't say anything about this."

Rudiger has been a vital player for Chelsea since Tuchel's arrival as head coach, but the club's off-the-field issues surrounding their ownership have played a leading role in the defender deciding to seek pastures new.
