Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti declares that Cristiano Ronaldo is his most important player, ruling out any chance of an exit for the Portuguese forward this summer.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has declared that Crisitano Ronaldo is his most important player, while also insisting that his long-term future lies at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Portuguese forward has been linked with a return to Manchester United in recent months, with Paris Saint-Germain also believed to be monitoring his situation closely.

Ancelotti told Sky Sports News: "I think Ronaldo is the most important player in this team because he is the player with the best quality.

"I think we will help him every time to do his best because if he does that every time we have a great opportunity for this season. His future is at Real Madrid, there is no question about this."

The 28-year-old began his pre-season preparations with a brace last night, helping Madrid record a 6-0 win over Bournemouth in their first friendly of the summer.
