Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov will not join Juventus as he 'prefers' playing in the Premier League.
The Italian club's sporting director Beppe Marotta revealed on Wednesday evening that they had made contact with the Bulgarian, but it did not yield any positive result.
"It wasn't a refusal," he told Sky Sport Italia. "Berbatov prefers remaining in England due to family reasons.
"We contacted him after we knew he refused the Fiorentina move. I spoke with Manchester United's chief officer.
"We knew their decision to sell Berbatov and we started a normal move. We wanted to take advantage from this point. The aim is to improve ourselves."
Berbatov is now reportedly on course to sign for Fulham.
