Hull City boss Steve Bruce: 'We are trying to sign Nick Powell'

Hull City boss Steve Bruce confirms that his club are "trying" to sign English midfielder Nick Powell from Manchester United before the end of the month.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has revealed that he wants to bring Manchester United's Nick Powell to the KC Stadium this month.

Powell, 21, has been with Man United since 2012, but has only made three league appearances for the Red Devils.

Hull have been strongly linked with a move for the England Under-21 international over the last week and Bruce has confirmed that the Tigers are "trying" to bring the midfielder to the Championship.

"Yes, he's somebody who interests us. I've liked Nick from the first time I saw him when he played for Crewe. Whether we can get something over the line is debatable, but we're trying," Bruce told reporters.

Powell, who came through the youth system at Crewe Alexandra before making more than 50 league appearances for the Railwaymen, has previously had loan spells at both Wigan Athletic and Leicester City.
