Chelsea will have to increase their contract offer for Hakan Calhanoglu if they want to sign the AC Milan attacker, according to a report.

Chelsea will reportedly have to increase their contract offer for Hakan Calhanoglu if they wish to sign the AC Milan attacker on a free transfer this summer.

The 27-year-old has been in impressive form for his Italian club during the 2020-21 campaign, scoring seven goals and contributing 11 assists in 36 appearances in all competitions.

Calhanoglu's contract at San Siro is due to expire at the end of June, though, and the speculation surrounding his future continues to gather pace.

According to Il Milanista, Chelsea have offered the Turkey international a contract as they bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge for the 2021-22 season.

However, the report claims that Milan's offer is currently superior, meaning that the Blues will have to place more money on the table in order to stand a chance of securing his signature.

Arsenal and Manchester United have also previously been credited with an interest.
