Manchester United change their plans for this summer's transfer window due to Edinson Cavani's decision to stay, according to a report.

Manchester United have reportedly changed their plans for this summer's transfer window, having managed to convince Edinson Cavani to sign a new 12-month deal at Old Trafford.

Cavani had been expected to walk away this summer following the expiration of his deal, with Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane and Borussia Dortmund's Erling Braut Haaland emerging as potential replacements for the Uruguay international.

However, according to The Mirror, Cavani's decision to stay, in addition to Mason Greenwood's emergence, means that the 20-time English champions are unlikely to target a new forward this summer.

The report claims that Dortmund's Jadon Sancho could be Man United's number one target in the upcoming market, as head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to fill the problematic right-sided attacking spot in his XI.

The Red Devils are allegedly 'convinced' that Greenwood, who has largely operated on the right, will become a leading centre-forward for the club in the future.

Solskjaer's side are also believed to be keen to bring a new centre-back to the club this summer, with Real Madrid's Raphael Varane thought to be a leading target.
