Cesc Fabregas: 'I never wanted to leave Barcelona'

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas says that he never thought about leaving the Spanish champions in the summer.

Cesc Fabregas has insisted that he never considered leaving Barcelona during the summer.

The Spanish midfielder had been the subject of at least two bids from Premier League champions Manchester United, while he was also linked with a return to his former club Arsenal.

However, the 26-year-old has revealed that although he was fully aware of the interest in his services, he never thought about departing the Camp Nou.

"I never planned to go back this summer. It's true that they had offers and they told me about them but the only thing in my head was staying at Barcelona," the Daily Mail quotes Fabregas as saying.

"I saw the stories and I spoke with [my agent Darren Dein] and he said: 'What do you want to do?' I know that if a club come in for you and you tell your representative that you want to go, then you go. All that's missing is that the club accept the offer. It's easy.

"At no time did I say that I wanted to go. It was clear in my mind that I wanted to succeed at Barcelona."

Fabregas returned to his boyhood club Barca in 2011 from Arsenal.
