Marouane Fellaini handed number 31 for Manchester United

Manchester United hand new signing Marouane Fellaini the number 31 shirt.

Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini will wear the number 31 shirt for Manchester United this season.

The 25-year-old, who completed a £27.5m move from Everton on Monday evening, could make his debut for the Premier League champions against Crystal Palace at home on September 14.

"We can confirm new signing Marouane Fellaini - @fellainiM - will wear the no.31 shirt for #mufc," the club posted on their official Twitter page.

Fellaini joined Everton from Standard Liege in 2008.
