Manchester United's Rio Ferdinand welcomes Marouane Fellaini's arrival

Rio Ferdinand welcomes the arrival of Marouane Fellaini at Manchester United following yesterday's £27m move from Everton.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has welcomed new signing Marouane Fellaini to Old Trafford following his £27m deadline-day move.

The Premier League champions secured their first and only major signing of the summer transfer window yesterday in the form of Fellaini.

The North-West outfit, who failed to land Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, paid £4m more than Fellaini's release clause, which expired in August.

Ferdinand wrote on Twitter: "@fellainiM welcome to Manchester United, good luck in internationals & come back healthy."

United also failed in their attempts to sign Fabio Coentrao on loan from Real Madrid.
