Mino Raiola: 'Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Manchester United rumours are false'

Mino Raiola, the representative of free agent Zlatan Ibrahimovic, claims that talk of the superstar striker agreeing to join Manchester United is wide of the mark.

Recent speculation suggesting that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on the brink of joining Manchester United is simply "not true", according to the striker's agent Mino Raiola.

The Sweden international has remained tight-lipped over his future in recent weeks since announcing his intention to leave French side Paris Saint-Germain.

Old Trafford is widely regarded to be Ibrahimovic's first-choice destination this summer, but he has also been tipped with making a move to the Far East on a big-money deal.

Super-agent Raiola revealed earlier this month that, despite all the ongoing talk, no deal had been struck with any club to land the signature of Ibrahimovic.

Now, speaking to Swedish paper Expressen, Raiola said: "There are some clubs in England, a few clubs in Europe, clubs outside Europe, but everyone assumes that he must go to Manchester United - it is not true.

"The club that buys him do not have to pay a transfer fee. This means that Ibrahimovic, who just finished a record season at PSG, can get an extra high salary. He is in a good bargaining position.

"It's about doing the right thing at the right time. The only thing we care about is quality. Let's see what happens. But we have a nice period ahead of us now."

Ibrahimovic, who won four Ligue 1 titles in four seasons with PSG, is reportedly seeking wages of £250,000 a week if he is to make the switch to English football.
