Manchester United attacker Juan Mata is reportedly open to leaving Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

Manchester United attacker Juan Mata is reportedly open to the idea of leaving Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

The 33-year-old has only made three appearances for the Red Devils during the 2021-22 campaign, while he has not played a single minute of their Premier League season to date.

Mata's contract with Ralf Rangnick's side is due to expire next June, and the Spaniard is already believed to be considering his next move, with a return to Spain thought to be a possibility.

According to Manchester Evening News journalist Samuel Luckhurst, the experienced attacker 'would be open' to leaving Old Trafford during the January transfer window.

Luckhurst, answering questions from supporters, also claimed that Mata 'would be cheap' due to his contract situation at the club.

The Spaniard has scored 51 times and registered 47 assists in 276 appearances for Man United since arriving from Chelsea in January 2014.
