Manchester United are reportedly contemplating an approach for Juventus winger Douglas Costa.
The Premier League giants are currently in the process of trying to negotiate a deal for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, who is keen to move to Old Trafford.
However, the two parties are yet to agree a fee for the England international, with a deadline set by Dortmund having passed on Monday.
According to Tuttosport, United may press ahead with trying to sign Costa as an alternative to the £108m-rated 20-year-old.
Juventus are said to be prepared to sell the Brazilian after Andrea Pirlo replaced Maurizio Sarri as the club's head coach.
Having made just seven starts and 17 substitute outings in Serie A and the Champions League during the most recent campaign, the 29-year-old would cost significantly less than Sancho.
