West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans has reportedly emerged as a possible transfer target for Manchester United.
After leaving Old Trafford in 2015, Evans is currently nearing the end of his third campaign at The Hawthorns but the Baggies are near certainties to be relegated to the Championship.
Spending next season in the second tier would trigger a £3m relgation clause in Evans's contract and it is expected to lead to a number of top-flight clubs vying for the centre-back's signature.
According to The Sun, United boss Jose Mourinho is considering whether to launch an approach for the 30-year-old, who may welcome the opportunity to return to the North-West of England.
During his previous spell at the club between 2006 and 2015, Evans made a total of 196 appearances in all competitions, including 131 in the top flight.
The Northern Ireland international has previously attracted interest from Manchester City and Arsenal, while West Ham United are said to be monitoring the situation.
